Q: How do I find out if a road will be repaved this year?

A: The Department of Public Works regularly evaluates Town infrastructure to prioritize road resurfacing work. This is based on a number of factors including, but not limited to: road usage benefit, overall road condition and budgetary constraints. Annual maintenance and resurfacing work targets the highest priority candidates to achieve the most cost-efficient program for the entire road network. Actual road work schedules, including but not limited to crack sealing, chip sealing, and paving, are also subject to other factors include weather, bids, and availability of qualified contractors. As a result, the actual work planned in any given year may be adjusted during the course of the year to compensate for changing conditions.
